What is Autocrossing?

Lynn Ryder, Putnam Park 1SM Record Run!

Congratulations to Lynn Ryder, setting the 1SM record at Putnam Park in June 2008! Lynn broke the 1SM record in his Corvette Z06. Putnam Park is a high-speed road course in Indiana. The Corvette Club attends the autocross annually and racers get better every year!

Welcome

Each year members of the Nashville Corvette Club attend various autocrosses. Some are local while others are in the Southeast Region of NCCC. Why do we autocross our Corvettes? Well, for starters it's fun! Getting on a low-speed course or on a high-speed road course will teach you things about your Corvette you never imagined. The Corvette is built for racing, and autocrossing in a racing event, so why not give it a try, you may just get hooked. Ask some of our "newbie autocrossers," they'll tell you some amazing stories of their adventures!

Metts Hardy, our club competition chair, would love to see some new faces and Corvettes at an autocross event. He may even give you a pointer or two. If you really want to learn how to autocross, his wife Alysia is an experienced autocrosser as well. She even beats him on the track from time to time!)
